Picture this...

A young man with lightly olive-colored skin and brown hair stands in the middle of a shining room, while the most glorious music you've ever heard comes from somewhere in the background and seems to soak through you from every direction. He's dressed in a black tuxedo with a beautiful miniture lily pinned to the lapel. He stands for a moment gazing at the doorway with those shockingly wise eyes of his--deepest brown with flecks of gold that almost seem to put out a light of their own--then smiles so broadly that his face is in danger of splitting in two. He laughs--quietly at first, gently building into a louder laugh that can only be called a song of praise in itself. Then he bounces in place and goes back to pacing back and forth, back and forth across the width of the heavenly room. The time is close now, and he can barely contain himself while he tries to continue waiting just those few moments more...

Finally, the music swells and takes on a slightly different tune--lighter and even more joyful (if that's possible) than it was just a moment ago. The young man's heart skips a beat, and his eyes are once again fixed on that oh-so-seemingly-distant doorway. At long last, the doors are opened wide, and slowly into the room walks the love of his life, dressed in a gown so white that it shines as if a hundred thousand tiny crystals had been sewn onto already gleamingly white fabric. No veil covers her glowing face, for the time of being veiled has passed, and as she walks slowly up the center aisle their eyes meet and the sun itself seems to stand still and take notice of this moment. The stars halt in their cosmic dance to watch as these two souls become one, then cascade across the sky in all their brilliance when the final vows are said and the young couple share their wedding kiss.

The moment that all creation has been waiting for has at last arrived, and it truly is a wedding banquet like no other.

Do you know the Bridegroom who is, at this very moment, pacing the throne room of heaven in His eager anticipation of the moment that His bride walks through those doors? He longs for her as only a lover can, and waits for the day when He can gather her completely into His arms and know that she is His--not to be shared any longer with those who contend for her attention here on earth.

Hear the good news--we are the Bride of this Lover of our very souls. It is for us He is waiting, praying for us continually and begging us only to wait for Him as well, asking for our deepest and most sacred love in return. The proposal is made already, the engagement sealed in His blood. Tell me, will you be at the wedding feast, by His side where you belong?

Soon! But right now I fear I'm trying to sort out INS paperwork so my dearly beloved husband can stay in the U.S. now that we're married! Ack!

I suppose that's a good enough excuse;)
