- Wake up @ 4am (after going to bed at 1am) to take parents to airport for their trip to New York
- Return home in enough time to catch about an hour of sleep before taking Stephen to work
- Return home again and make a master chore list with my sister
- Start working on the (literal) mountain of laundry that we wanted to get done, as well as gathering all things together that need to go to storage
- Leave the house to go to bank, then storage unit, then library (30 minutes away), then cousin's house (same general area as library)
- Leave cousin's house to go pick Stephen up (about 45 minutes to an hour north of cousin's house)
- Spend two hours at Wal-Mart looking for the items we need to do the work on the house we wanted to do
- Spend an hour and a half trying to get home (an hour and fifteen minutes to go five miles, gotta love construction)
- Finally make it home
Tuesday:
- Leave sister and Stephen home while I go to work for the day
- Spend an hour at the grocery store getting the "few" essentials that we'd need for the rest of the week
- Come home after a long day of working minimum-wage retail and find sister and Stephen just as tired as myself
Wednesday (the "day off"):
- Sleep in by about an hour
- Go out to breakfast/brunch after discussing plans for the day
- Go to just about every department store we can think of looking for draperies for our living room windows, plus some laundry hampers and other odds and ends
- Go see "Step Up" (great movie, go see it!)
- Hit a few more stores looking for those blasted draperies
- Go out to dinner
- Hit that one last store that we hadn't thought of yet for draperies
- Finally go home and get some sleep
Thursday:
- Rush out of the house early because we're running late
- Drop Stephen at work
- Work minimum-wage retail all day
- Hit the craft store while waiting for Stephen to get off of work
- Finally find the window painters that I'd been looking for and unable to find
- Pick Stephen up and go home
Friday:
- Leave early and work minimum-wage retail all day, managing to keep myself from beaning the really obnoxious customers with pieces of our display racks
- Come home to find sister and Stephen even more tired than they were previously
- Go get dinner
- Come home and get to bed as soon as possible (10:30 for Stephen, 11ish for me) since Stephen has to be to work at 5am Saturday
Saturday:
- Get a phone call from my cousin at 1:30am--was up until 3ish trying to deal with the mini-crisis that came with the phone call
- Went back to bed for about 45 minutes before having to get up to take Stephen to work
- Take Stephen to work
- Come home and crash for about two hours
- Get up and take all remaining laundry (sheets and blankets) to laundromat with sister
- Get all the laundry done and return home
- Rest for half an hour, then leave to pick Stephen up from work
- Load the bark and potting soil that Stephen got for a really good price into the car, buy mini-blinds for the living room windows (hang the draperies! Bah!)
- Run to Wal-Mart to pick up a giant bin for the clean blankets
- Figure out how to get giant bin into a station wagon that has just been filled with mini-blinds, bark, and potting soil
- Hit the gas station, come home, get blankets into bin, finish setting up new and improved laundry station, get the new decorations into the bathroom, etc
- Leave for the airport at 6pm, stop by the gas station to gas up the other car, and make it to the airport just in time to pick up parents from their return flight
- Finally get to go home and rest, before returning to work tomorrow.
*exhausted sigh*
It's been a busy week.

Yes, you have been busy. How did your parents like the vacation? How about their reaction when they got home?
wow... busy busy busy. Lots of Wal-Mart, I notice. :-P
Wow! Busy indeed!
But you know, busy isn't always bad. I find I would rather run around like a chicken with its head chopped off, and get lots of things accomplished, rather than sit around on the couch twiddling my thumbs, begging the clock to go faster.
Yes, mom and dad loved what we'd done with the house (mom keeps walking around sighing contentedly), yes, lots of wal-mart (it's literally right next door to Stephen's work--and besides, you're not really something of a hick family unless you shop at wal-mart a lot), and yes, busy is often loads better than bored.
