I recently read a book by John and Stasi Eldredge called "Captivating". Now, this wasn't your typicaly "how to be the perfect, biblical woman by doing such and such in your church/in your marriage/with your hair" kind of book, but a real look at, well, femininity itself and the heart and soul of a woman. It really speaks to a woman's heart about the significance of when and why we were created, about our deep-rooted longings to love and be loved, and about some of our key conflicts in a fallen world. I would strongly recommend this book to all of my female friends. It's not a book that will tell you how to "fix" your life and be the Proverbs 31 woman, but it will open your eyes to a lot of the elusive areas of your own heart and help you start to understand them.
Shoot, for that matter, I'd strongly recommend this book to all of my male friends too! Maybe we females will make a little more sense after you've read what the Eldredge's have to say!
In the meantime, know that you of my "girlfriends"--ALL of you--are beautiful beyond words, and loved more deeply than the deepest ocean. Your Lover pursues you, and leaves you loveletters throughout your day for your enjoyment and appreciation. Look for them, and come to Him with open arms and offer your heart anew. He will fight for it, and He will protect it.
