I am so far beyond tired it isn't even funny. It's been one of those non-stop, knock-'em-out kind of weeks, and it's not even over yet. Stephen has been hired at Home Depot, in the Garden department, and the out-of-store training was last Saturday and Sunday in a city forty-five miles south of here, from 8am to 5pm both days. It was actually kind of neat, because we made a weekend of it and decided to stay in a hotel in the area Saturday night (God bless tax returns). It was quite fun, and quite romantic--kind of an early Valentine's day, if you will. :~) Then, Monday, he had to be back up at the store he's working in fairly early in the morning for a couple hours of in-store orientation. Tuesday he had to be in from 8am to 5pm for training, same as today, and tomorrow he's got to be there from 6am to 3pm for his forklift training. Wednesday we were up early to get over to my cousin's place, as she had been informed late Tuesday (by her father) that she had to have her entire downstairs apartment clean by 1:30 Wednesday afternoon. You see, he's selling the house, and the realtor's photographer wanted to come in and take pictures then. However, my cousin isn't the, um, tidiest person in the world, and what should've taken us at least six to eight hours to accomplish we managed to whirlwind through in a stunning two and a half hours' time. Whew. While Stephen was in training today, I was at my cousin's house helping her pack boxes (which meant dragging the few that we'd tossed into the closet haphazardly yesterday back out again, organizing them, and then repacking). And I got to drive the 30 miles from my cousin's place to Stephen's store in rush hour traffic. *head throbs*
Did I mention that, while my cousin and her boyfriend look for jobs in this area and the four of us work on saving up the money for an apartment of our own, the two of them will be staying here? In my parents' house? A house that has three small bedrooms, one bathroom, and five people already living in it? Not to mention the two cats, a dog, and dustbunnies of various shapes and sizes? It will be a miracle if we all survive this...
*sighs*
*sighs again*
*sighs one more time, for good measure*
Anywho, enough with the pity partying. Life is good, despite the busyness and general stressed-outedness of everyone around here. Stephen is really excited about his job, which makes me really happy, and the company he's working for has an excellent track record for actually caring about their employees. They've got some really good things to offer. I'm...trying to figure out what I should be doing right now. Stephen's schedule has the possibility of changing every couple of weeks, which makes it difficult for me to find something (since we've only got the one car, and I'm the only one with a license right now).
Anywho again...it's time for me to stop staring at this monitor for a while, and stare at the inside of my eyelids. ;~) Keep the faith, dear friends, and sing a song to your Father when you're feeling down! God bless!
