1. $300 "driving without insurance" tickets that you're only given two months to pay off, after you've gotten insurance and are struggling to make those $90 per month payments as well.
2. $85 per month climate-controlled, uber-secure storage units that you have the money for but forget to pay until two days after the due date, thus resulting in a late fee (obviously my fault, but it's still frustrating).
3. A crazy manager who comes in and offers to go against the rules and give a customer what that customer has just spent five minutes throwing a fit over, completely discrediting everything you've spent the last five minutes trying to nicely and calmly explain.
4. The same crazy manager who has the nerve to stand there and lecture you like a two-year-old when, after nearly eight months of doing something exactly right, you make one tiny little easy-to-fix mistake. Instead of actually showing you the best way to fix it, she goes into a diatribe about how to do it correctly. Just for good measure, she does this in front of at least five customers, who happen to be waiting for her to finish said diatribe so that you can finish ringing them out so they can move on with their respective days.
5. Going to bed with several hours for nice, soothing sleep in front of you, only to find that you cannot actually fall asleep for well over an hour, and that when you do finally fall asleep, you wake up every-hour-on-the-hour until your alarm clock goes off.
6. Jury Duty. I am unconfortable with the idea of deciding someone's fate based solely on evidence and how good of a lawyer each side has. One or the other of the lawyers have to be lying in order to even be doing their job correctly, which means even an "honest lawyer" (oximoron, I know) is, at best, trying to skew the information in a positive/negative way, depending on the point they've been hired to make/defend. My first jury duty stint is next week. Bleh.
7. Stupid managers who keep your husband working over an hour late on the Fourth of July, when he was already scheduled in such a stupid way as to make him miss the parade and the fireworks. Most of the other managers would've made sure that closing happened fast so that everyone could go home early and still maybe catch the fireworks with their families. But no, that would be too much to ask. Let's stay almost an hour and a half late instead. Grrrrr.
It's been a rather trying week or so. I've gone from irritated to stressed to really angry to completely and utterly infuriated over the last week, and I'm just now starting to come down from it all and realize that God's still looking out for us, no matter how out-of-control things seem. I'm using my little corner of cyberspace here just to vent off the last of the steam. I promise the next post will be more positive. :~)
