"In Thy Light"

I wrote this a little while ago, but came across it again today and thought I'd post it. Some of you may have read it before, but I hope you don't mind reading it again!

How beautiful was the day
When "It is finished!" rang through the skies
When the veil was torn from top to bottom
As the earth groaned and shuddered
At what had transpired

How much more beautiful still
When the tomb was found open, empty
When He walked the earth again after death
Risen to life by God's own hand
Sending as He was sent

Born into death by receiving life
Birthed into life by death alone
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Soul free to worship at the foot of God's throne

In Thy light we see light...

How incredible was the sight
Of dancing tongues of flame--divided
Falling upon those first few as they waited
Rushing like a violent wind
Holy Spirit filled

How much more incredible still
Was the message preached in Jerusalem's square
Men from far and wide, hearing their own tongues
From the mouths of Galileans
Who knew not the words

Born into death by receiving life
Birthed into life by death alone
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Soul free to worship at the foot of God's throne

In Thy light we see light...

How amazing will the day be
When the trumpet sounds from On High
As Christ returns to gather to Himself
All those marching in His name
For the earth's Last Battle

How much more amazing still
When Judgement Day has come and gone
And in the heart of New Jerusalem
In the midst of great celebration
The Bridegroom claims His Bride

Born into death by receiving life
Birthed into life by death alone
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Soul free to worship at the foot of God's throne

In Thy light we see light...
